AYURVEDIC TREATMENT FOR PSORIASIS
Psoriasis is chronic non-contagious common skin condition that causes rapid skin cell reproduction resulting in red, itchy scalp, dry patches of thickened skin. The dry flakes and skin scales are thought to result from the rapid build-up of skin cells.The scaly patches caused by psoriasis, called psoriatic plaques, are areas of inflammation and excessive skin production. Skin rapidly accumulates at these areas and have a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area including the scalp and genitals. Psoriasis can effect a local coverage of the skin to a complete body coverage. Fingernails and toenails are also frequently affected Psoriasis can also cause inflammation of the joints, which is known as psoriatic arthritis.Conventional or western treatments include anti-inflammatory drugs, photo therapy, topical therapies, biologic response modifiers etc which have severe side effects to the patients. The relapse of the chronic condition is almost assured and it badly damages the immune system along with respiratory organs, liver and blood cells at times causing chronic anemia. To avoid such complications of the western medicines Ayurveda has its tried and tested approach to treat different types of Psoriasis. Ayurveda believes that impurities in the blood associated with emotional factors is the main cause of the disease.Psoriasis is believed to occur due to vitiation of all the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) in varying degree, but predominantly Vata and Kapha. The predominance of vata causes pain, dryness and scaling of skin. Pitta vitiation leads to burning sensation, redness, inflammation etc and that of kapha causes rashes, itching, discharge, thickening of skin etc. This imbalance of the doshas produce toxins which slowly accumulate in deep tissues contaminating them and giving rise to complications of different types of Psoriasis.

Reduces inflammation and pain in the affected area. Subsides pus filled blisters and prevents “weeping” of the bumps. Heals bleeding from the scaly patches. Removes toxins from the blood and purifies the body. Improves digestion and appetite.DOSE : 2 Tablespoon with equal amount of water after breakfast & dinner.
